Big News for NH Families: New State Education Funding Now Available

NH Governor Kelly Ayotte signs SB 295, expanding the access to Education Freedom Accounts by removing income requirements.

Starting this summer, all New Hampshire families—regardless of income—are eligible for up to $4,600 per child in state education funds. These funds can be used toward tuition at private schools like New England School of the Arts (NESA), as well as homeschooling expenses and other qualified educational services.

This is possible thanks to a new state law, Senate Bill 295, signed into law on June 10, 2025. The bill expands the Education Freedom Accounts (EFA) program by removing income restrictions, making this opportunity available to every family in New Hampshire.

What Are Education Freedom Accounts?

Education Freedom Accounts empower families to choose education pathways that best support their children’s needs, strengths, and goals. EFAs allow public education funds to follow the student—not the system—offering families greater flexibility and agency in designing their child's education.

Eligible expenses include:

  • Private school tuition (like NESA)

  • Textbooks and curriculum

  • Technology and internet access

  • Tutoring or special education services

  • Other education-related costs

On average, the program provides about $4,600 per student per year, paid directly to participating schools or providers.

Why Does This Matter?

At NESA, we believe students thrive when they are seen, supported, and inspired to follow their curiosity. But for too many families, a creative, arts-integrated education has felt out of reach financially.

This change in legislation could make all the difference.

Whether your child dreams of being on stage, behind the camera, or simply wants to learn in a more personalized and passionate environment—this new funding helps open the door.
